2008 MädchenChor Hannover

 
On 18th and 19th Oct, 2008, the renowned MädchenChor Hannover was invited by HKTCA to perform 2 concerts in Hong Kong at Auditorium of Sha Tin Town Hall and Tsuen Wan Town Hall.
 
Founded in 1952, the MädchenChor Hannover is one of the best known youth choirs in Germany. They have performed in Europe, Japan, South America, the United States, Canada and Israel. The ensemble has earned international acclaim by winning prizes at numerous competitions – among them the Deutscher Chorwettbewerb, Internationaler Chor Wettbewerb in Arezzo, Italy and Tolosa, Spain, International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktobedorf, Brahms-Wettbewerb in Hamburg. The MädchenChor Hannover, led by conductor Gudrun Schröfel, once again won the Deutscher Chorwettbewerb in 2006 and gained the highest point ever awarded in this competition.
 
The choir had performed some well-known choral pieces in their performance, including Witchcraft, Sani Youth Dancing under the Moon and The Duck and the Kangaroo. That were an enjoyable evening to all the audiences with their fabulous choral technique together with their energetic expression.
 
Besides of the two concerts, the MädchenChor Hannover had participated in a cultural exchange program with 8 local school choirs. 4 of the choirs were guided directly by Prof. Gudrun Schröfel. All the choir members have had a wonderful and fruitful afternoon.
